Effect
Magnesium oxide
Magnesium oxide is characterized by a uniquely high magnesium content of 57%. Since the magnesium is bound to only a single oxide atom, it exceeds the usual content of 5-10% pure magnesium by a multiple. This allows for a high-dose intake with just one capsule.
Through the chemical reaction of magnesium oxide and the hydrochloric acid present in the stomach, magnesium chloride and water are formed. High-dose magnesium oxide neutralizes stomach acid. It is therefore less suitable for people with low stomach acid.

Verzehrempfehlung
Täglich 1 Kapseln mit 200ml Wasser einnehmen.
Tagesbedarf
Die deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung empfiehlt eine Zufuhr von 300 bis 400mg Magnesium täglich (NRV: 375mg). Der Bedarf an Magnesium ist nach der biochemischen Individualität von Mensch zu Mensch jedoch verschieden und kann in Stress-Situationen stark erhöht sein.
Hinweis: Das Bundesamt für Risikobewertung empfiehlt, eine Tageshöchstmenge von 250 mg Magnesium bei Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln nicht zu überschreiten, um eine abführende Wirkung zu vermeiden (leichte Durchfälle). Die Höchstmenge gilt für Personen ab vier Jahren. Für Kleinkinder unter vier Jahren kann aufgrund fehlender Daten keine Höchstmenge abgeleitet werden.
Das BfR empfiehlt, die Tagesdosis auf mindestens zwei Einnahmen pro Tag zu verteilen, weil in den meisten Studien, die der Höchstmengenableitung dienten, die Magnesiumzufuhr über zwei oder mehr Portionen pro Tag erfolgte und dies vermutlich die Verträglichkeit erhöht.
Nahrungsergänzungsmittel
Empfohlene tägliche Verzehrmenge nicht überschreiten. Kein Ersatz für eine ausgewogene und abwechslungsreiche Ernährung. Außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern aufbewahren.
